Just 25 miles south of Los Angeles and only a short distance away from Disneyland is a vibrant community known as “Little Saigon”. Situated in the heart of Little Saigon on Bolsa Avenue is Phước Lộc Thọ, known in English as Asian Garden Mall. Completed in 1987, Asian Garden Mall is the work of ambitious Vietnamese developer Frank Jao who, single-handedly, has turned the stretch of Bolsa Avenue between Brookhurst Boulevard and Magnolia Street into the center of America's biggest Little Saigon. The 165,000 square-foot, two story, indoor retail complex houses over 300 different stores that carry a variety of exotic Asian products as well as main-stream clothing and apparel. It houses the largest jewelry center in Orange County featuring manufacturing, wholesale, and retail outlets. In addition, it is also home to fine Asian cuisine as well as fast food.
Each year there are more than 200,000 tourists who visit the Asian Garden Mall. The artistically designed complex not only serves as the commercial, cultural, and social epicenter of the Asian community, but it has also evolved into a premiere tourist destination. Along with Disneyland and Sea World, visitors from Delaware to Wisconsin, Amsterdam to Salisbury all visit the Asian Garden Mall when they come to Orange County.
